Can I add data to the page analysis?

This guide below is written for advanced users and developers. Looking for a web developer to customize our plugin? We highly recommend checking out Code Poet as they have a great list of available freelance WordPress developers.

Version 3.0 And Newer

In Yoast SEO 3.0, we redesigned the content analysis part of the plugin. With the changes, came the removal of the previous filter that many developers used to push their content into our plugin. But don’t fret, we put together a guide on how to accomplish the same task in the new version. Plus we’ve included an example to get you started right away. Check it out here.

Versions Prior to the 3.0 Release

Yoast SEO has a filter that is called wpseo_pre_analysis_post_content and it takes 1 argument: a string containing the post’s content. It’s used in several spots within the Yoast SEO plugin, and it allows plugin developers to add their custom fields content to the content the plugin analyses by just adding on to that string.

Doing so will improve the ability of our SEO evaluation tool to read and evaluate the content inside the custom field.
