Author archive pages

Author archive pages list all content written by a specific user on your site. The ability to enable or disable the author archives is found under Admin > SEO > Search Appearance under the ‘Archives’ tab.

  1. Log in to your WordPress website.

    When you’re logged in, you will be in your ‘Dashboard’.

  2. Click on ‘SEO’ in the sidebar

    The sidebar contains a list of menu items that allow you to create content or access WordPress, plugin and theme settings. Yoast SEO adds a top-level menu called ‘SEO’ with the Yoast logo.

  3. Click on ‘Search Appearance’.

    The ‘SEO’ settings will expand providing you additional options for customizing Yoast SEO and our add-ons. Admin SEO Search Appearance

  4. Click on the ‘Archives’ tab.

  5. Toggle the ‘Author archives’ switch to match your site setup.

    Single author sites should disable the author archives to avoid duplicate content errors. When disabled, Yoast SEO will redirect the author archive pages to the homepage and remove the author sitemap.

    Multiple author sites should enable the author archives and customize the author sitemap. When enabled, the author archive pages can be accessed and Yoast SEO will create the author sitemap.

  6. Click ‘Save Changes’.
