Installation steps

  1. Install Yoast SEO for Drupal
  2. Set correct user permissions

Install Yoast SEO for Drupal

Install manually

Download the module from the Drupal modules page as a .tar or .zip file.

Upload the compressed file to the sites/all/modules folder of your Drupal 7 installation.

Extract the compressed file.

After the compressed file has been extracted successfully, delete the compressed file.

Repeat steps 2 – 5 for the following dependencies:

Enable the Yoast SEO for Drupal module in the admin of your Drupal website.

Log in on your Drupal website.

Open your modules.

Expand the SEO modules.

Check Yoast SEO for Drupal.

Scroll to the bottom and click ‘Save configuration’.

Confirm that you want to enable the dependencies for Yoast SEO for Drupal by clicking ‘Continue’ on the notification.

Install with Drush

You may need to install drush on your server before you can use the drush command in your terminal.

Open a terminal connection to your server.

Go to the sites/all/modules folder of your Drupal 7 installation.

Install and enable Yoast SEO for Drupal by typing drush en yoast_seo -y.

Drush will automatically install and activate all missing dependencies.

Set correct user permissions

After installing Yoast SEO for Drupal, YoastSEO.js and Jed, you’re almost ready to use the module. The final step is to set the correct permissions for all your users.

Locate the Yoast SEO for Drupal module in the admin of your Drupal website and click Permissions.

Make sure the permission ‘Use Yoast SEO for Drupal’ is given to all user roles that should have access to the Yoast SEO for Drupal module.

Click ‘Save permissions’ and you’re good to go!
