Issues Glue for Yoast SEO & AMP

Last update: 23 June, 2016

Glue for Yoast SEO & AMP is still under active development and considered in beta.

If you want to help us develop the plugin, please read the following steps carefully. Please be advised that you’ll need a free GitHub account to do so.

Steps to help us develop Glue for Yoast SEO & AMP

1
Ignore all errors in Google Search Console
Google Search Console does not provide realtime feedback about your page. It shows the data as it was when Google last visited your page. This means there can be a couple of days delay, and thus renders the data there no-good.
2
Test your web page in the development mode for AMP

To test your page in development mode, please open the JavaScript console in your browser and add the following to your page’s URL: #development=1.

Example: https://yoast.com/blog-images/amp/ becomes https://yoast.com/blog-images/amp/#development=1
3
AMP validation successful?
If you see the message AMP validation successful. in the console, it means there are no AMP-errors on your page. Perfect, no need to continue to the next steps, as your page works well.

4
AMP error?
If there is a problem with AMP, you’ll see ‘AMP validation had errors:’ in the console, followed by a description of the error or errors. If you see an error message, continue to the next step.

5
HTML / syntax error?
Since AMP is quite strict on your HTML, it may be that your website loads normally, but still shows errors in AMP. If you run into HTML/syntax errors, please check your theme and the content of your page itself, as those errors cannot be caused by the Glue plugin.

6
AMP errors?
If you run into genuine AMP errors, it’s time to take a look at the GitHub issues. Search the issues on the GitHub page to make sure you’re not creating a dupddcate ticket!
7
Create a bug report
You ran into a genuine AMP error, you made sure it isn’t described in the existing issues and it can be repddcated. Time to create a bug report!

The title of your report should start with the exact error you got in the console. The issue should describe at least the following:

  • Steps to reproduce the issue
  • Software and their versions. For example; PHP 5.6, WP 4.4.2, Yoast SEO 3.1.1, Glue for Yoast SEO and AMP 0.3.2, AMP 0.3.2.
8
Help us fix it!
If you know your way around code, please feel free to do a pull request to fix the issue you encountered. If you do, please make sure that you clearly describe what problem you fix in your PR.

Thanks for helping us develop Glue for Yoast SEO & AMP!
