Noindex for “Special Pages” in Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO makes sure your search pages are set to noindex. This is not a setting, this is simply how it should be done according to the Google Guidelines. So we won’t be adding a feature that’ll make this editable in either Yoast SEO or Yoast SEO Premium.

For developers: If you want to change this, this can be done by using one of our filters. An example can be found here.

As you might’ve seen, there’s another special page:

However, the 404 page doesn’t need a noindex, because if these pages return a 404 error code, they automatically won’t be indexed by search engines.
