How to view Google crawl issues

Update May 2, 2019: Google has removed the API that allowed us to display Search Console errors in Yoast SEO. So currently, your Search Console report will be empty. Know that nothing is broken on your site and there’s no special action required from your side. You can read what our next steps are to fix this issue in the blog post Where did my Search Console errors go.

Warning: You must add your website to Google Search Console in order to connect and retrieve crawl issues.

In the webmaster tools section, you can connect to Google and retrieve the crawl issues for your site. When you've found those crawl errors - like 404 errors - you can easily redirect them with the redirect manager of Yoast SEO Premium.

  1. Connect to Google Search Console

  2. Log in to your WordPress website.

When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'.

  3. Click on 'SEO'.

On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. In that menu, click on 'SEO'.

  4. Click on 'Search Console'.

The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on 'Search Console'.

  5. All Desktop crawl issues show by default.

Filter the list by clicking 'Not Redirected' or 'Ignored'.
