Error: Your homepage cannot be indexed
Your homepage cannot be indexed by search engines. This is very bad for SEO and should be fixed.
If Yoast SEO reports your site as not indexable by search engines, this can be caused by several reasons. At the same time, it's an issue of the highest priority, assuming that you want your site to be in Google's index.
Please test the URL in Google's mobile-friendly test here. If Google can run the mobile-friendly test for the domain, Google can also crawl the domain. In that case, the Ryte (formerly OnPage.org) warning is just wrong.
If Google cannot run the mobile-friendly test, our best advice is to use the "Analyze entire site" button, create an account on Ryte (formerly OnPage.org) and see what they have to tell you. It could be that you have a robots.txt file that's blocking indexation, it could be that your theme has some code in it that's blocking search engines, etc. etc. Ryte can tell you what the problem is and how to fix it!
The Solution: Fetch the Current Status
You can manually request the plugin check the status again after resolving issues identified by Ryte. Follow the steps below to Fetch the Current Status.
- Log in to your WordPress website.
When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'.
- Click 'Fetch the current status' inside the 'Yoast SEO Posts Overview' box.
If you do not see the overview box, please follow these steps to show the box.

Alternatively, you can disable the indexability check by following the steps here.
